Plasma Lift Treatment

Plasma Pen by Louise Walsh International

Plasma Pen by Louise Walsh International is the latest non-invasive procedure for tightening excess skin.  Plasma Pen LWI  is a non-surgical treatment with minimal pain and discomfort reported by clients. Topical cream is applied to numb the area being treated.  During the procedure, carbon crust will form on the skins surface directly where the Plasma Pen LWI treatment was applied.  These carbon crusts will fall off within 2-5   days. Immediately after the treatment, the skin will  be reddened and lightly swollen. This will likely last 3-7 days, although slight redness may remain for up to 2 weeks, leaving behind beautiful rejuvenated skin.  Post-procedure tinted after-care cream is applied to help camouflage the treated area during your healing.

One to four treatments may be required. The number of treatments depend on the treated area size and clients expected degree of correction. Additional procedure may be performed 6-8 weeks after the first one. We strongly advise to follow our aftercare guidelines to minimize discomfort and ensure quick healing.

WHAT DOES THE PLASMA PEN LWI DO

Plasma Lift contracts and and tightens the surface skin tissues creating immediate lift and dramatic skin tightening. We rejuvenate the epidermis by making it shed old cells which are quickly replaced with fresh beautiful new skin cells.

By targeting fibroblasts in the dermis, we stimulate the collagen and elastin productions, which strengthens, plumps, inflates and lifts the structure if the skin over a sustained period of time.

The treatment should last long term rather than a few months although it is hard to predict exactly. Aging is a dynamic process and there are many factors affecting clients individually (results last 3-5 years).

TOP 5 QUESTIONS REGARDING THE PLASMA PEN TREATMENT

  1. What is Plasma Lift Treatment?
    A.  It is basically an electric arc that is transmitted through a small probe. The probe itself doesn’t go in to the skin or even touch the skin.  The arc causes superficial damage to the upper dermal layer of the skin and transmits heat to the lower levels of the skin. This causes the new skin to generate collagen and elastin fibres that can fade as we age.
  2. How long does it last?
    A.  This really does depend on the individual after their treatment. Exposure to UV rays, moisturizing and a poor diet can all have negative effects on the skin.  If you look after yourself, you should be looking around two years. Like if you had surgery!
  3. What is the downtime?
    A.  There can be swelling for two to three days afterwards.  Once the swelling has subsided, it will scab and the scabs will start to clear up after about a week and you will be left with pinkish new skin.  Once this pinky skin has gone you will be ready for your second treatment (if needed). This is usually around five to eight weeks after the initial treatment.
  4. Am I suitable for the treatment?
    A.  A full consultation will take place before the treatment is carried out. This will mainly check that you do not have a history of Hyper-pigmentation of the skin and do not have any conditions that may delay or cause infection during the healing process. Any medication etc must also be declared at this stage.  If you have a history of water retention during flights etc. the likelihood is that you would swell but would still be suitable for the treatment.
  5. What are the contraindications?
    A.  If you are on certain medications or have specific medical conditions that may cause you to heal poorly or be susceptible to infection, a doctor’s note would be required at the very least.  Hyper-pigmentation of the skin is a risk if you have a history of this and swelling can be exaggerated in people who swell up on flights and have a poor diet.
